All Your Charlies Questions Answered!

Here are some quick, easy facts about the Charlies film deadline, put in the form of questions for your convenience.

WHO JUDGES THE FILMS: Some students, but mostly a combination of faculty and staff. If you're interested in being a judge, call either Jordyn (509-995-0475) or Greg (303-547-8868).

WHAT DAY WILL THE ACTUAL AWARDS NIGHT BE: March 26, 2009, just less than four weeks after the films are due.

WHERE WILL IT BE: In the gym.

WHAT FILMS WILL YOU SHOW AT THE AWARDS NIGHT: The top four films nominated for the much-coveted Charlie of Best Picture.

I DON'T WANT TO MAKE A FILM, BUT I'D LOVE TO HELP WITH THE CHARLIES SOMEHOW. WHAT CAN I DO FOR YOU: Oh, so much. On the awards night itself, we'll need people to help as:

  • Announcers
  • Bouncers
  • Popcorn-makers
  • Greeters/Consorts (in a stand-there-and-look-pretty, not end-the-night-in-jail way)
  • DVD salesmen (and saleswomen)
  • Audio controllers
  • Cameramen (...and camerawomen)
  • And many more.

We are ridiculously thankful for those who help us, and this year they'll probably receive a discount on the festival DVD.

YOU MAKE A DVD OF THE FESTIVAL: Yes. Or, we at least try to, but computer problems have stopped us in the past. This year we'll be selling the 2008 Charlies DVD at the awards night.

WOW, THIS SOUNDS FUN AND AMAZING: I know! All you need to do is make a film and be a part of it. That, or just come and watch other people's films at the awards night March 26.

THANKS GUYS, THAT WAS SIMPLE AND INFORMATIVE: Don't mention it.

As usual, if you have any questions or concerns involving the Charlies, please send them to Greg (303-547-8868, ) or Jordyn (509-995-0475, ). Happy filming!

2009 Charlie Awards

The film board would like to thank the filmmakers, judges, sponsers, presenters and everyone that helped make this years charlies a huge success.  That includes our wonderful audience.  Keep an eye out for the DVD that should be on sale soon.  Thanks again!
