What do I do with my time? I mean, yeah, I do my accounting homework and read what adds up to thousands of pages of textbook. And like a good college student I attend class and try to take good efficient notes without too many doodles. But what about my free time. I mean there are 24 hours on a day and I can't possibly be expected to fill them all with school related drudgery. So I took a closer look at my time management and this is the breakdown of a typical day:
Let's start with the, oh how do I say this in a politically correct way... the less than super exciting hour usage:
3 hours class
3 hours homework, papers, reading, problems etc
2 hours labs... oh joy.
The Necessary hours:
0-8 hours sleep, for this equation lets assume a healthy 8 hours
1 hour eating at the rot, this also includes very in depth conversations ranging from math and science, humor to politics and global warming....yes, we are scholarly college students...thanks for noticing!
Then I figure I spend at least 3 hours procrastinating and doing absolutely nothing like staring at a cloud out my window or watching a funny video on Hulu or, well who knows, I don't really remember, I kinda just blank out.
The rest of my 4 hours are spent hanging out with friends, usually just talking about who knows what, I also go to Bible study and CCF. I go outside and rock climb, try to snowboard (yay winter and snow!!), or like in previous blogs, riding horses and mountain biking....oh man what else....ummm, there are so many little things that you just can't keep official track of! But to be sure I lead a full life!!
Now, keep in mind that this is a week day. My weekend can take one of two paths. #1 I stay at Carroll and sleep 12-20 hours, eat, and laze about for the rest, and maybe think about thinking about doing homework, or the research paper that is indeed due Monday and accepting the fact that all the procrastinating in the world will not change that.
#2 I go and do something outdoors, like rock climbing, going backpacking, in which case I'm exhausted and get little sleep, but eat lots of food that seems to taste that much better because I'm ravenously hungry!
Right now, I'm in that wonderful 3 hours of procrastinating, so I think I will end this, finish my healthy college late night snack of Top Ramen, and get back to studying for my Econ test, or writing one of three papers that I need to pound out!!
Good luck with Homework and Have a great Thanksgiving,
Jared
