How Philosophy works: The Allegory of the Cave

Practicing philosophy = getting out of the cave.

How do we get out of the cave: we are made to THINK. How are people made to think?

SO: practicing philosophy = thinking. (As opposed to observing. As we said, philosophy is concerned with answering questions that are “non-empirical”—that require thought/reason to answer.)
