Long Range Plan. Goal 2 - Improve access to information

- Objective 1: Review annually the SIRSI system assessing it for necessary hardware and software upgrades and adding any needed additional module/services.
- Task: By October 15 make recommendation on whether to include additional hardware/ software upgrades or new modules/services in the annual budget requests.
- Task: Look at SIRSI system statistical reports
- Task: Attend all OMNI meetings
- Task: Attend SIRSI meetings when possible
- Objective 2: Increase and replace existing computers as needed.
- Task: Ensure the building is adequately wired and shielded to support the additional workstations and equipment.
- Task: Secure adequate funding
- Task: Hire computer technician on library staff
- Task: Consult with CCIT
- Task: Review and assess the needs of new/more computer and equipment annually.
- Objective 3: Install an operational wide area network (WAN), which would include, but not be limited to, periodical indexes; census information; reference materials; etc. by 2005.
If CCIT is not able to purchase appropriate hardware/software or if library is not able to make use of such equipment/software then the following tasks will take place:- Task: Coordinate with CCIT

- Objective 4: Staff an information desk with trained personnel 85% of the hours the library is opened by 2006-07.
- Task: Increase personnel budget

- Task: Develop staff schedule
- Objective 5: Elicit faculty, staff and student input on library services by 2006-07.
- Task: Convene focus groups of target populations
- Task: Survey target populations
- Objective 6: Provide each staff member with the opportunity of attending annually a minimum of one workshop or conference relating to job responsibilities in providing information Expenses will be paid fully by the college’s staff and faculty development funds.

- Objective 7: complete the retrospective conversion of the collection by the year 2004-05

- Objective 8: Develop a plan to maintain the integrity of the OPAC data records by 2003-04.

- Objective 11: Increase library staffing to current ACRL minimal standards by 2005.
