Long Range Plan. Goal 9 - To increase and stabilize funding for the library

• Objective 1: Have the library’s budget be no less than 5% of the college’s overall budget by 2004.

   

  • Task: Work with budget committee and administration to increase the library’s budget until the library’s budget is 5-6% of the college’s total budget. ACRL recommended standard is 6%.
• Objective 2: Establish an endowment fund for the library that is a minimum of one million dollars by 2004.
  • Task: Work with the Institutional Advancement Office to set an obtainable goal – recommended 5-6% of the Centennial Capital Campaign.
• Objective 3: Re-establish the library’s grant writing program by 2004.
  • Task: Identify areas where grant money can assist
  • Task: Identify granting sources
  • Task: Write grant
• Objective 4: All library staff salaries up to market value by 2004.
  • Task: Identify current market value of library staff workers, taking into account education and work experience.
  • Task: Increase salaries to meet market value
  • Task: Maintain market value salaries
