Financial Aid Award Steps

Refund checks for Spring semester are now available!

If you have received a letter or email indicating you have a financial aid award to view, complete the following steps!

Before you begin...

Current students, watch this video on locating your missing documents in MyCarroll. Only currently enrolled students have access to MyCarroll. Incoming students, start with step 1 below.

STEP 1: Read your student financial aid terms and conditions »

YOU MUST READ ALL THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF FINANCIAL AID TO ACTIVATE YOUR AID.

Accepting or rejecting your financial aid: Start here to accept or reject your financial aid award offer. Only currently enrolled students may access their award information online. All incoming new freshman and transfer students, must select the "New Students" arrow below.  Incoming new students will receive a paper award letter in the mail.

NEW STUDENTS: New students do not need network access in order to complete STEPS 2 - 6.  Step 1 for new students is informational, and after reading the information listed in STEP 1, new students will be redirected to the main STEPS page.

Step 2: Federal Student Loans »

REQUIRED FOR  STAFFORD LOAN BORROWERS WHO HAVE NOT PREVIOUSLY SIGNED A FEDERAL DIRECT STAFFORD LOAN MASTER PROMISSORY NOTE
If you have accepted a Stafford loan at Carroll College, you must complete the on-line entrance counseling and a Master Promissory Note to receive your Direct Federal Stafford loan funds.

If you have accepted a Federal Perkins Loan and are a first-time borrower at Carroll College you need to complete Perkins entrance counseling and a Master Promissory Note to receive your Federal Perkins Loan. Federal Student Loans »


Step 3: Parent Federal Direct PLUS / Private Student Loans »

Step 4: Outside Scholarship Reporting »

If you have received any monetary awards from private groups, organizations, churches, etc. whether check or cash received apart from the College, you need to report them to the Financial Aid Office. Outside Scholarship Reporting »


Step 5: Verification Process »

The Federal government randomly selects students for a process called verification in which you must submit federal income tax information to the Office of Financial Aid. If your Student Aid Report (FAFSA results) indicates you were selected for verification you must complete this step. Verification Process »


Step 6: Qualify your Financial Aid Award & Arrange for payment of your bill »

The Office of Financial Aid would like to better serve our students. In order to do so, we ask that you qualify your financial aid award.  Payment arrangements must be made by August 1, 2015 for fall semester or January 1, 2016 for spring semester or financial aid may be in jeopardy.
