The Lewis and Clark County Community Foundation (LCCF) is seeking a Carroll College student (Junior or Senior year) who has an interest in working in the nonprofit sector.  This entry level position will provide on-the-job training under the direct supervision of the Foundation Administrator and in cooperation with the student's academic advisor.  Students from any academic discipline are welcome to apply.

  Position:                    
Assistant for Endowment Development

Supervisor:                Judith Johnston, Foundation Administrator (FA)

Work Schedule:         10 hours per week, 12 weeks per semester

Available:                   Fall and Spring Semesters (summers possible)

Salary:                        $10.00 hr DOE

 

Duties:

1.      Will assist the FA with fund raising activities including record keeping and follow up;

2.      Must attend and assist with all fund raising events, including those held in the evenings;

3.      Will plan and execute a small fund raising event of their own (under close supervision by the FA) with the proceeds going towards the LCCF endowments (one event each academic year);

4.      Will assist with publicity and public relations;

5.      Will update written outreach and board materials as needed, including a one page explanation of charitable endowments for the general public;

6.      Must attend the LCCF Board meetings (one each calendar quarter);

 

Skills:

1.      Must be able to communicate both verbally and in writing;

2.      Must be responsible, reliable and able to follow through on assignments;

3.      Must be able to type accurately;

4.      Must be comfortable using computers;

5.      Must be familiar with Microsoft Office (particularly Word and Excel);

 

LCCF will provide all necessary equipment and supplies including computers, telephones, copy/scanning machine, work desk and office space, etc.  The student will work under the supervision and guidance of the FA.  After a successful semester in this position, the student may be invited to attend training workshops and seminars to further educate the student in nonprofit work and endowment building.
