Carroll College, a Catholic, coeducational liberal arts college in Helena, Montana, is seeking a Director of the Corette Library who will serve as the team leader of the library staff and support the mission of the college. Knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in higher education and their impact on library services is essential. The director will be responsible for administering and enhancing library services; strategic planning; creating and overseeing the library budget; supervising personnel; developing and implementing policies and procedures; enhancing instructional use of the library; advocating for the library; developing productive partnerships across disciplinary and organizational boundaries; collaborating with the Advancement Office to procure external funding for the library; report writing; and advising faculty, staff, and administration about library related issues. The successful candidate will have an MLS from an ALA-accredited institution; comprehensive knowledge of on-line database searching and OCLC cataloging; budgeting experience; strong leadership, interpersonal, and organizational skills; and excellent oral and written communication skills. Preference will be given to candidates with academic library experience. This will be a full-time, 12 month appointment with a starting date of July 1, 2010.
