Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst have managed to pull of something of value in their careers, the film Spider-Man. The story held true to the comic book as well as ushering in a host of new special effects, making the web-slinger look phenomenal. I am not going to give the story away for those who have not seen the movie, however, I can tell that most who view this work by director Sam Raimi (Army of Darkness) will not at all be disappointed. The movie is visually appealing while the plot holds strong, even the ending blends in with the movie's vivid storyline, as it is not any mushy/happily ever after gunk that no one wants to see. Out of 4 stars I give Spider-Man a solid 3 1/2, it is a very entertaining film that lives up to all expectations of what a superhero flick should be.
