About Carroll's Dance Team

Dance TeamThe Carroll College Dance Team was founded with the intent of sharing the love of dance with the Carroll community. They perform routines at athletic events, specifically football and basketball half-times. 2009-2010 is the seventh year that Carroll has had a Dance Team.

The Dance Team is headed by a Captain/Choreographer, Assistant Captain, and Secretary. They are a part of the ASCC and not the athletic department, so the Dance Team is a student run organization and they do not have a "coach".

They do many fundraising activities throughout the year in order to buy costumes and travel. Their largest fundraiser is the Little Saints Dance Camp. This is a day-long camp held each year January. Campers learn dance technique as well as a routine that they will perform that evening at a Carroll home game.

Try-outs for the Carroll College Dance Team are held in the late spring and early fall. The Dance Team has both team members and alternates, all of whom get to perform throughout the year. They dance to a wide variety of music and incorporate different styles of dance.

In August, 2006, the Carroll College Dance Team attended a UDA Collegiate Camp. They competed a routine and qualified for the National Dance Team Championship at Walt Disney World. The Dance Team also brought home two other trophies: the 110% Award and the Superior Award for individual performance.
