On an individual visit to Carroll College the day is about you. We will schedule your day based on your interests so that you are making the most of your time at Carroll and in Helena.
Campus Tour: This 1 hour walking tour of campus is led by our Gold Team Ambassadors, current students who want to share their experience with you. Campus tours are arranged as small group tours, expect to share the tour with fellow prospective students. Remember to wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather.
Admission Presentation: One of our Admission Counselors will give you an overview of what Carroll has to offer, answer questions, and hopefully provide you with more than a few things to consider as you explore your college options. These presentations may be in a small group, while we do our best to accommodate one-on-one appointments, it is not always possible. If it is important to you to meet individually with your Admission Counselor, please let us know.
Class Visit: Wonder what college classes are really like? Sit in on an actual college class in an area that interests you - History? English? Chemistry? Just let us know your top three choices when scheduling your visit and we'll find a class that best fits your visit schedule. Here's your chance to experience our engaging classroom dynamic and take a few moments to visit with the professor after class.
Eat in the Dining Hall: Our Gold Team Ambassadors are always happy to host visitors to lunch in the dining hall. Not only will you get a chance to check out the food, but a campus dining hall can give you a good perspective on who our students are. If you will be here over the noon hour, you can expect that we'll treat you to lunch.
Meet with a Professor: (based on availablity) Learn more about the major you are interested in, about what our students are doing in and out of the classroom, and hear it all from an expert. Our professors are eager to connect with current and prospective students, just let us know what academic department you'd be most interested in learning about.
Overnight Stay with a Current Student: (admitted students only) For a real "insiders" look at Carroll, spend the night in our residence halls. Overnight stays do not guarantee that you will be well rested in the morning, but might include a game-night in the lounge, free late night lattes, or sledding down Guad Hill (weather permitting). Overnights are available Sunday through Thursday and need to be requested at least two weeks in advance. You'll likely be camping out on your host's dorm-room floor, so please bring a sleeping bag, pillow and your own towel/toiletries.
Parents are welcome to participate in as much or as little of the day as they'd like. Occasionally we cannot accommodate parents in class visits due to space, but typically this is not an issue.
Unfortunately we are not able to host parents (or siblings) on-campus overnight. Please see our About Helena page for information on local hotels and activities.
Plan on your visit starting in the Admission Office, located in O'Connell Hall. Please arrive a few minutes prior to the start of your day so we can get you checked in and share your schedule with you.
There are visitor parking spaces alongside and in back of O'Connell, or you are welcome to park on Benton Ave. as well.
Generally we offer Individual Campus Visits any day that our classes are in session. Please consult our campus visit calendar for days when we are unable to offer a full visit. (Limited visits are available at the beginning of each semester, over Christmas and Spring break and during final exams) If you'd rather visit campus as part of a formal program, check out our Open House, Scholarship Recognition Day and A Night on Us programs.
