3. Your Theatre studies will expand your interpersonal and communication skills well beyond conventional modes. Besides the obvious verbal communication training you will receive in Acting and Directing courses and writing assignments in Theatre History and Dramaturgy, you will also learn to communicate your thoughts and intentions in the "language" of the discipline, such as scene design and scenic painting, and learn how to use emotional context in lighting design, musical performance, dance and choreography.
4. Your Theatre studies will not only encompass the various fine arts disciplines (e.g., visual arts, music and dance), but also provide for broad interdisciplinary associations of other academic areas. Examples include Business (arts management), Literature (Shakespeare, and other playwrights and poets), Mathematics (construction planning, estimating, management and budgeting), History (Theatre history and Theatre Appreciation), and Philosophy (dramaturgy).
