After completing Psy 107, 108, and 307, students apply for admission to the Human-Animal Bond Program. Students will select a track: Canine or Equine.

Canine Track

  • Basic Canine Science and Training, Psy 312 (4 credits)
  • Assigned a puppy
  • Raise and train for service to humans, i.e. disabled person, search and rescue, animal assisted activity
  • Canine Assisted Therapy, Psy 313 (4 credits)
  • Advanced Courses
  • Practicum (3 credits)

Equine Track

Students will develop skills and specific knowledge in the field of equine assisted therapy.

  • Basic Equine science & training, Psy 331 (4 credits)
  • Equine Assisted Therapy, Psy 332 (4 credits)
  • Advanced Courses
  • Practicum, Psy 417 (3 credits)

Capstone

After completing your path courses, you will move on to the Capstone Course.
