Program Director and TESOL methods courses instructor:
Ms. Michelle Lewis is the director of international programs at Carroll College. She is responsible for all aspects of international education including: immigration advising, orientation, foreign scholar and faculty support; international student recruitment and study abroad program development and oversight. In addition to her administrative responsibilities, Michelle is the Director of the TESOL minor at Carroll. She teaches all the TESOL methods courses at Carroll and is responsible for oversight of the TESOL curriculum. Prior to her employment at Carroll College, Michelle was the director of international programs at Idaho State University for eight years, where she served as Director of International Programs as well. Prior to that appointment, Michelle was the program director for EF International Language Schools in Miami, Florida, a position which included management and teaching.
Michelle was born and raised in Colorado Springs, Colorado and has been involved with international education since 1987 when she began tutoring francophone African students at the University of Arizona, where she received her BA in French Language and Literature in 1988 after having studied in Paris in 1987. She received her MA in Linguistics with an emphasis in TESOL from the American University in Washington, DC in 1990. Michelle has travelled to over 30 countries and loves to read, garden, enjoy the outdoors and care for her wonderful dogs, all of whom she and her husband rescued from the streets.
