Arranging International Travel

Airfare

The following companies offer discounts to students, faculty and staff who are traveling internationally:

US Passport Information

Passports are issued by the US Department of State.  You can apply in person at a US Post Office or by mail (renewals only, certain restrictions apply).  Even if you're "just going to Canada or Mexico" you need a passport or passport card.  Are you ready?

Foreign Visa Information

It is the student's responsibility to obtain the necessary visas for foreign travel.   The best place to obtain information is from web page of the country's embassy in Washington, DC as well as from the information from the organization and / or university.  For a list of visa requirements and foreign embassies and diplomatic missions click here.

Travel Smart

Your safety while abroad is paramount.  By working with our office, you will be reminded of the risks and rewards of studying abroad.  Though we cannot guarantee that nothing will happen, we strive to make every study abroad opportunity academically challenging, life changing and safe.

Along with the Carroll College Travel Registry group leaders should register their contact information while abroad with the nearest US Embassy or Consulate.  It's easy to do and can be done before you even get on the plane.  To register please visit: https://travelregistration.state.gov/ibrs/ui/

Safety is also your responsibility, so we hope this information assists in your planning.

There are many things to think about than just vaccinations:  be sure to consider your current physical and mental health.  Are there any issues that might prevent you from getting the most from your time abroad?  Do you take regular medications?  Are you a diabetic?  These are just a fraction of things to consider.

This should get you started:

If you have questions or concerns, be sure to talk with us!  We're here to make sure your trip of a lifetime really is the best experience it can be!
