safety and security
TRAVEL SMART
Your safety while abroad is paramount. By working with our office, you will be reminded of the risks and rewards of studying abroad. Though we cannot guarantee that nothing will happen, we strive to make every study abroad opportunity academically challenging, life changing and safe.
Safety is also your responsibility, so we hope this information assists in your planning.
There are many things to think about than just vaccinations: be sure to consider your current physical and mental health. Are there any issues that might prevent you from getting the most from your time abroad? Do you take regular medications? Are you a diabetic? These are just a fraction of things to consider.
This should get you started:
risk factors & reducing your risk
special issues (women, minorities-both ethnic & religious-, students with disabilities, Americans abroad)
culture shock & adjustment issues
If you have questions or concerns, be sure to talk with us! We're here to make sure your trip of a lifetime really is the best experience it can be!
