four-year promise
Our Promise To You.
Carroll College academic majors are designed for completion in four years. Carroll promises to provide free tuition for any course that is not available during the student's eight, full-time semesters if the student meets all of the following requirements but is unable to graduate in four years.
Conditions for eligibility for the Carroll Four-Year Promise:
- Student enters Carroll College as a first-year, undergraduate student (that is, not classified as a "transfer" student).
- Student declares a major by the end of their third, full-time semester and does not change majors or transfer to another institution. (Note: The civil engineering, elementary education, secondary education, biology, chemistry, and nursing majors require adherence to the four-year course outline. If a student declares one of these majors on or before the fourth full-time semester but has not followed the four-year course plan, it is unlikely the student will complete their degree in four years and would not be included in the Carroll Four-Year Promise.)
- Student takes the recommended number of credits each semester - at least 15 credits per semester.
- Student maintains good academic standing as defined in the course catalog.
- Student athletes who choose to remain a fifth year do not qualify for the four-year promise.
- Student completes one major. Pursuing a double major does not qualify for the four-year promise.
Faculty advisors will inform students of the requirements for the major and determine the best plan to complete a degree in four years.
