Dr. Mary Keeffe
Associate Professor, received her Ph.D. from Cornell University. Her research interests include semiconductor surfaces and interfaces. She also enjoys astronomy, rock collecting, and working with stained glass.
Courses Taught: Calculus I & II, Astronomy, Engineering Mechanics I: Statics, Engineering Mechanics II: Solids, and Engineering Physics I & II.

Gary Fischer, P.E.
Assistant Professor, earned his Master of Science degree from the University of California, Davis. He is a registered Professional Engineer with over 25 years of private consulting and government experience. He specializes in water resources engineering with emphasis in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, environmental engineering, and water structures design. His hobbies include hunting, fishing, hiking, camping, bike riding, and spending time with his wife and three boys.
Courses Taught: Environmental Engineering, Water & Wastewater Treatment, Senior Design Project I & II, Hydrology, and Hydraulics.

Terry Mullen, P.E.
Associate Professor, earned his M.S. in Mining Engineering from Columbia University. He is a licensed professional engineer, and works at a local civil engineering firm during the summer. Terry enjoys traveling, music, and golf.
Courses Taught: Difference Equations & Linear Algebra, AutoCAD, Introduction to Engineering, Statics, Dynamics, Physics, Fluid Mechanics, Statistics, Calculus. Transportation, and Engineerng Economics.

Dr. John Scharf
Roberts-Nix Professor of Engineering
Dr. Scharf received his Ph.D. from the University of Notre Dame. His academic interests are in mathematics, engineering mechanics, and structures. He is the faculty advisor for Carroll's student chapter of Engineers Without Borders and has lead three student trips to Santa Maria, a Catholic orphanage northwest of Mexico City. Dr. Scharf teaches courses in mathematics and in structures, but he has also taught engineering science courses, physics, and computer programming. During his free time he enjoys fishing and traveling.
