Current Students Talk About the Program
Patrick Manning
"I have gained a lot of theory and field experience double majoring in Communication and Public Relations at Carroll. The program in television production has greatly prepared me for my future endeavors. I have interned in Portland, Ore. television news (KPTV). I was recently accepted to intern at the national level on Fox News Channel's "Your World with Neil Cavuto." After graduation from Carroll, I plan on entering television news anchoring, reporting, or producing."
Kelsey Bjelland
"I'm a senior with an interdisciplinary major in Television Production and Broadcast with Marketing, and a Communications minor. After graduation from Carroll, I'm planning to attend graduate school to earn my master's in broadcast journalism or magazine journalism. My dream job would be working as a Today Show correspondent or as an anchor for Fox News. The program at Carroll has been so much fun so far, and I feel like I will be well-prepared for life as a journalist after graduation because of it."
Grant Collet
"I'm a freshman this year and this program is actually what brought me to Carroll. I read about it in the prospector, our campus newspaper, on one of my tours last year and found that they started a film/tv production. I am a Public Relations major with a concentration in tv production. I love film and everything it entails. I plan on moving to California for grad school in film. This program is small but growing fast. Its amazing what Carroll has offered us and its only going to get better. If you enjoy film, tv production, and/or broadcasting the program that we have is great for you."
Matthew Sewell
"I'm a freshman majoring in Communications and Public Relations and minoring in Business Administration and Broadcasting with Marketing. After Carroll, I am undecided as to what my plans are, but I am entertaining the possibility of graduate school. My dream job would be calling the games of a professional sports team or working in media relations."
Andrew Chenovick
My name is Andrew Chenovick and I'm in the class of 2010. I grew up in Santa Barbara, California, and my high school had its own multimedia program which included a year of film production. I had a lot of fun doing that, and had doubts about coming to Carroll for the reason that the school didn't have any film program to speak of. Luckily, I came at the right time, as the broadcasting program is just getting off the ground. This spring I took Basic Single Camera Production and got to make a news feature, a music video, and a documentary. It has been great to be able to continue my interest in film and video production and I'm glad that Carroll is starting to expand in this area.
