Carroll Board of Trustees Grants Tenure and Promotion to Six Faculty Members

At its annual fall meeting on October 30, 2009, the Carroll College board of trustees granted tenure and promotion to six of the college's faculty members.

Granted tenure were Dr. Kelly Cline, associate professor of mathematics and astronomy; Dr. Bradley Elison, associate professor of psychology and chair of Carroll Psychology Department; and Dr. Jennifer Geiger, associate professor of biology. All three have taught at Carroll since 2003. Cline and Geiger both earned their doctorates from the University of Colorado-Boulder. Elison earned a Doctor of Education at the College of William and Mary.

The board promoted Terry Mullen to the rank of full professor of mathematics, engineering and physics and Brent Northup to the rank of full professor of communication studies. Northup joined the Carroll faculty in 1989 and serves as the chair of the Communication Studies Department and as the award-winning coach and director of the Carroll Talking Saints forensics team. He holds a master's degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Mullen is a professional engineer who has taught at Carroll since 1983. He earned his master's degree from Columbia University and his bachelor's from Carroll.

The board promoted to the rank of associate professor of computer science David Marshall, who has taught at the college as an assistant professor since 2005. Marshall earned his master's degree from Montana State University.
