For Carroll students, alumni, faculty and staff, service becomes a part of each person's life commitment - volunteering at churches, schools, hospitals, and their favorite non-profit organizations. Many alumni say that their time at Carroll was a life-changing experience -- creating lessons on the importance of giving to others -- not for school but for life.
According to recent statistics, 27% of Americans engage in civic life by volunteering and in 2006, more than 61 million Americans dedicated 8.1 billion hours of volunteerism. The Carroll Community surpasses these statistics and here is our chance to announce it and acknowledge each others efforts!
The Centennial Service Committee invites you to be a part of recording your volunteer hours until May 2010. Our goal is to reach 100,000 Hours of Service. Recording volunteer hours is easy. You can record your personal volunteer hours or record hours for a Carroll Alumni Chapter, Student Group or a family activity.
We will keep a running total posted on the web site as well as highlight some of the volunteer activities.
Check the website regularly to participate in special events.
Log your hours of service to make your contribution to the 100,000 hours needed to make this drive a success. Just so you have an idea, this are some things you will be asked to log:
If you have never logged your service, you will need to register to enter data. It's time to get started!
